About Us

We are a midwestern Ukulele Band from Milwaukee.

We are life long musicians who have played in various bands.  Last summer’s trip to Hawaii inspired the purchase of ukuleles.  We have composed our own songs along with learning some standards.  Playing string instruments is new for us, but our musical background has made the transition from woodwind & brass to strings much easier.

We are graduates of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and are urban professionals by day, ukulele FUNatics by night.

Our blog is not limited to just music, and will include a little bit of this and that.

  1. Glad to see you spelled ukulele right on this page. Just to let you know, on your main page you spelled it ukelele. Also, truth be told, the actual spelling is ‘ukulele. I play with the Hawai’i State Society ‘Ukulele Hui here in the Washington, D.C. area. We are holding a Presidential Inaugural Ball, with Eddie Kamae, Riatea Helm, Auntie Genoa’s ensemble, and, possibly, Jake Shimabukuro. See details at http://www.hawaiistatesociety.org.

  2. Yes, we know it’s spelled wrong. But we’ve had difficulty going back in and changing it. It’s a word that has always been tricky to spell….for us anyway.

Sounds like that will be a heck of a pres. inaugural ball!

  3. Hi Milwaupaliukes,
I’m writing from Surfdog Records. Thanks for posting about Brian on your blog, we really appreciate it! We’re gearing up to release a brand new Brian Setzer album this Fall and I’d love to add you on to our e-mail list so we can send you some exclusive free tracks before the album even comes out. I did not see an e-mail address on your blog. Please send me an e-mail at megan@surfdog.com if you would like to be added to our list!
    Best,
    Megan
